CD Reviews

New Age Native American
Matthew Lavigne | Carrollton, TX USA | 11/13/2000
(5 out of 5 stars)

"An excellent fusion of Native American rhythms and instruments with modern new age. A very peaceful, relaxing album. On a car trip recently, a passenger who was dozing in the back seat while this was on, spoke of dreams of sitting at an Indian campfire.BTW: I vehemently disagree with the Amazon editor's blatant slam of David Arkenstone's "Citizen of the World". It was all good music."

"Ever since visiting Sedona, Arizona I have fallen in love with spiritual new age music. I find it so calming and relaxing...The use of flute is especially wonderful. I think just about anyone would enjoy this CD. The day I received it I went back on line to order one for my parents."
Quality blend of native american elements
Jeffrey B. Mills | San Diego, CA USA | 09/19/2000

"The "Anima" CD by Ancient Voices is one of those infrequent CDs that artfully blends the spirituality of native american chant with modern orchestral arrangements. The tracks are heart-centered and smooth. The drumming can be fully appreciated without being distracting or harsh. It may be just a little too engaging to be a meditation cd but I suspect it would do very well as background music to circulatory massage. In any event, it is one of the better native american "new age" cds I've heard in years."
