Animotion's First Album- A Keeper.

"This is the first album released by the great synth pop band- Animotion. This contains the top ten hit (1985) "Obsession" as well as the top 40 hit "Let Him Go". Fun, Fun, Fun delivers well... a fun feeling, as well as "Open Door". The cold and chilly ballad "Tremble" is definetly a keeper. Animotion uses great instrumentals, boasting great guitar suqences, drums as well as well as the keyboards. Astrid Plane & Bill Wadhams deliver great vocals in all the songs. In my Opinion, the second album "Strange Behavior" is better, yet with the hits "Obsession" and "Let Him Go", you can't go wrong.



P.S. The version of "Let Him Go" on this CD is very different than the one on Obsession: The Best of Animotion. The instrumentals on this one boast mostly guitars, and less keyboards. On Obsession: The Best of Animotion "Let Him Go" is greatly synthesiezed. The Obsession: The Best of Animotion version, in my opinion is better.



This album is often confused with the 1989 release "Animotion". Make sure to ask your seller which version they have. The 1989 release, is good too (if you want both)"

Good first album! Very rock driven on most songs.

"Animotion is known for their hit Obsession. But the rest of the album is more exciting. They have a strong number of rock heavy songs like the best number Everything's Leading To You, which is like a faster Let Her Go. Some other strong numbers are Fun Fun Fun and Tremble. So there is more of a rock driven vibe here than the keyboard/techno- heavy Obsession. The lead male and female singers in the band bring a sexy vibe to the album as they trade leads in all the songs. What's different on the album is that Obsession clocks in at 5 minutes, versus the single version of 4 minutes. Let Her Go is more guitar heavy on the album than the tinny keyboards that dominate the single version. This album really led them to the success that they had in the '80s. Their song Obsession is still talked about and played to this day in 2005!!!!"
