Excellent reissue of live Ann and Stan

"Ann Richards was chronologically the third of the great Kenton band vocalists, the first two being Anita O'Day and June Christy. This is a reissue of the CD entitled "I Hear Music" which was only available for a brief time in the late 1990s. It's good to have this (even though it contains no liner notes or photos) because I have been trying in vain to locate the earlier issue for years. The sound is surprisingly excellent for 1957-1959 live sessions. Ann sounds great as usual and the Kenton orchestra is in full cry. Fans of the Richards/Kenton "Two Much" album will love this; it offers some different songs and has a somewhat looser feel. Admirers of either artist should grab this CD ASAP because I predict it won't be available for very long. Lovers of any vocal jazz should check it out as well. Ann didn't make many albums so this is a real treaure."
