Concrete World and the Lover's Dream features 12 songs - six blues, contemporary folk, and gospel originals, five soulful blues and Motown songs delivered in Anne's soaring, gutsy style, and a heart-rending version of Jackson Browne's These Days. Some of the finest musicians of the Pacific Northwest and Mexico City collaborated with Anne on this diverse collection of songs. Produced by Kenny Passarelli, former bass player for Elton John and Joe Walsh, Anne's work on Concrete World and the Lover's Dream has been reviewed as 'Tracy Chapman, Eva Cassidy, Bonnie Raitt and Janis Joplin rolled into one.'
