Uninspiring production of a great artist

"To its credit, "Sounds of Yesteryear" (SOY) has released 4 Annette Hanshaw CDs. To its discredit, each of them has been poorly produced. First, about half the tracks on all but one of them ("It Was So Beautiful") are available on other Hanshaw collections (e.g. those released by Jasmine and Sensation). Second, the transfers are listenable but inferior (echoes and "tinny" sound) to these other collections, particularly the sparklingly clear Sensation releases, which were done by the great John R.T. Davies. Finally, "My Inspiration is You" adds insult to injury in that the tracklist on both the back of the liner notes and the back of the jewel case is wrong. The tracks are listed in almost the complete reverse of the actual sequence in which they play. In any case, chronological order would have been preferable. The only thing making these SOY Hanshaw CDs desirable is that about half the songs are unavailable anywhere else."
Forgetting you

"Is the song "Forgetting You" mentioned in the product description actually "That's Just My Way Of Forgettting You" (recorded September 13, 1928)?
Even without hearing this CD, I'd recommend it to those who do not have these songs, as Ms. Hanshaw's work is always a delight.
I wish CD manufacturers would concentrate on issuing material that has not yet been released on CD, however. There are still many fine sides to see the light of (this current) day."
