"I just pulled out my mother's dusty, on-the-shelf copy of Anointed's 'Under The Influence,' and I put things in perspective. Before I dropped it in my cassette player/stereo, I was thinking the majority of these songs just don't pull me in because some are downtempo and take time to adjust to. I reviewed "Get Ready"- satisfactory, nice bassline. I reviewed "Do"- mellow, had a slow beat that drew me in, had a nice bridge to the chorus, and Ne'Cee, Steve, & Da'dra never disappoint vocal-wise. I listened to "Adore You"- my reaction was "I heard enough!" Why? Because this is arguably the best song they ever conceived- instrumentally, vocal, & lyrically. The song was leaking out melody from all crevices- Steve made quite an impression as everything just fell into synchronization. That is why I have given it a four- for this song and "Under The Influence" alone! I never got a chance to really evaluate the other side of the tape, but I'll tell you this- if you get this tape, don't dwell on the ones that don't grab you right away. I'm sure you'll like "Under The Influence"- the r&b-inclined track that brought me and my mom to get this album (cool strings and vocals), "Waiting In The Wings"- heartfelt and sincere, "Get Ready"- a funk number, "Do"- a downtempo, mellow diamond-in-the-rough, and lastly, "Adore You," which is what I believe one of the best gospel/christian songs I've heard in ages that fulfilled all three areas: vocals, instrumentals, & lyrics. Please consider the positive aspects of this, and get it. If you're an avid fan of Anointed, the less interesting tracks will grow on you."

"Have you not seen, have you not heard - there's a music group called 'Anointed' with lyrics that can only reinforce the name of this dynamic trio. Check out my personal favorites: "Take Me Back", and "Come Unto Me". The words will touch your soul, and the music will have you rejoicing 'Under the Influence' of God's goodness. I urgently wait for the next release by this wonderful group. Keep uplifting the name of Jesus. MUCH LOVE!!!"

"I discoverd this CD by accident some time ago and just recently took the time to listen to it. Apparently, God had something He wanted me to hear.Anointed is just that "Anointed" - God has commissioned them to spread a very special message and this CD does just that. The title track appeals to christians and non- christians alike. My personal favorites "Adore You" and "Walling in the Light" showcase the talent and calling of Steve, Da'dra and Ne'Cee - May God continue to bless their ministry. Go get this one - It's a keeper!"

"I listen to my Anoited CD daily. Under the Influence was the only song I'd heard before I bought the CD 4 months ago. Now, I know all the lyrics by heart (and so does my 4 year old son). The music is contemporary and the lyrics meaningful. Each song touches my heart in a different way. I have been able to introduce Christian music to many of my non-Christian friends with the help of this CD. The beat attracks them and before you know it, they're singing along. By the time the words register, they're hooked."Anointed" is the right name for this group. The seeds are being planted."
