Synopsis

Product Description
Antaeus (phonetic \ An-te-as\) is back with ?zero4?, his first album of new material in five years. This album fuses urban and club beats with ethnic melodies and ambient sensitivity. Antaeus bridges the traditional with the futuristic and delivers a contemporary world music journey of different moods: chill to dance, laid back to hip-hop. ?zero4? was co-produced by Pete Jatracus. Jatracus is an accomplished composer/arranger/bassist who has studied at the Victorian College of Arts in Melbourne, Australia and has toured internationally with several European acts. Other major contributions are by Maria Azzopardi (vocals) and Thanasis Vassilopoulos (clarinet and ney flute). ?zero4? tracks that have already attracted attention are Time, Alexander, Bali, Palm of the Prophet and Ghost Dance. Time, with vocals in English and three versions, (album cut, Ian?s 5am mix, House mix), is not only tailor made for Smooth Jazz and Chill Radio, but it can also find its way into clubs and CHR playlists.

CD Reviews

Refreshingly different
Nora Allard | Clinton, MS USA | 01/24/2006
(5 out of 5 stars)

"What a breath of fresh air. Unlike current music, which seems to have no melody, I could hum along with this cd by the time I listened to it the second time. Some of the songs would make terrific sound tracks for movies. On the monotous drive to and from work, I was able to escape via zero4."
Hidden gem

"Beautiful album. The songs are captivating and the music transports you to ancient and exotic places. Highly reccomend!"
KIND OF LIKE GOOD VS. EVIL

"I love Antaeus' zero4 and Byzantine Meditation CDs. That's chill electronica / world fusion at its best. I was looking for more Antaeus albums to buy and came across a death metal / satanist rock band using the same name. Their albums De Principii Evangelicum, Blood Libels, and Cut Your Flesh and Worship Satan are not from the guy who did zero4 and Byzantine Meditation. Different artist, different music. It's kind of like good vs. evil."
