There are two titles available with the very same material. This 'Unknown Jobim' is the American issue of 'Inedito' as issued originally in Brazil. Both are available here@Amazon and the quality is the same, so check prices for your convenience.
Happens that Jobim recorded a two-set album exclusively to be distributed as a gift by a Brazilian corporation. What an act!
Needless to say this double set was an object of high desire by all of his fans in Brazil for many years.
This is the double CD issue of that album which contains 24 standards composed by Tom Jobim. That's the reason why its title is 'Inedito', meaning 'unissued'.
The title 'Unknown' is not appropriate because all material is quite known in Brazil or even in the USA just with new renditions by Jobim himself with a small group.
No matter, it is a very great album though not Jobim's top of the top."

"An old school fan of The Maestro, Ive recently reconnected /rekindled my ACJ mania of my high school yrs. An exchange student from Brazil was one of my HS buds and we discussed and enjoyed this stuff decades ago. In memory of Keeko (my bud) I searched and found this gem. " Chege De Saudade" transports me from my Atlanta metro abode to Ipanema Beach and I can see my lovely spouse in knee deep water ,with the other beauties..as the maestro raises his hands and says..Um !dos! tres!...and the music lifts me and flies us away on a South Atlantic breeze, the joy of carnival...the energy, the color and all the resplendent imagery of Brazil...it all passes before my eyes and I can imagine.
A must for all ACJ fans old n young.....It fills your senses and remains with you for days n nights. I just played 2 ballgames at 3rd base and it followed me , haunted and moved me beyond myself and persisted..I pushed it away and it hung on and said....No!!!!!
Enjoy!"

"Jobim made this intimate recording together with his family. Among all his albums he liked this one the most: they had enough money for the recording to realize all that he wanted. The first half of the CD is happy, the second a bit more melancholic. Once you start to listen this album you can't get the music out oy your had, it takes you in right away. The melody is subtle, the rhythm is pulsating. The female chorus is like a never-ending swell. A must for Jobim fans."

"Buy Antonio Carlos Jobim The Unknown.
The recordings are very intimate. They were made in his basement!
The music was put together by a special group of people at a special time in Jobim's life.
The liner notes and pictures are remarkable.
I love the photo of Jobim sitting and reading in his living room with sun flooding his vaulted ceiling.
