One of the Best Bubblegum Bands Ever

"Finally! - The reawakening of a band that, unlike so many others, begs a new musical chapter. After releasing two extremely solid albums of singable, danceable pop near-perfection, Aqua flamed out and splashed abruptly in 2001 - leaving many of us, myself included, seriously bummed that a band so much more primal and fun than the sizable majority of mainstream musical acts getting airplay would leave us with no worthy heir apparent to the Bubblegum genre throne.
So, here is the low down on the new cd. Even though this recording is only a greatest hits disc, it is worth getting merely for the three new tracks and the remastered songs if you're a long-time fan - so enough said if you're one of those. As for those of you out there not familiar with Aqua, I have this to say: If you have any affinity for pop/dance/electronica/bubblegum music, you really should order this album now. Aqua melds many different musical influences and styles into a seriously infectious synth- and beat-filled lineup of outstanding pop tracks - their songs are like the musical equivalent of Pop Tarts: they are hard edged, yet soft and warm inside, and always deliciously sugary and addictive. Leni's voice is a feminine siren song, plying your desire with its Lolita-like girlishness, while René's voice adds excellent masculine counterpoint. Aqua's output is perfect music for driving, cleaning house, or Caribbean-flavored clubbing on Duval Street in Key West - which is where I first encountered them back in the nineties and where I got instantly addicted. If you like catchy pop music, especially the kind driven by sensual, teenybopper female leads, forget Brittany, Hillary, Miley and the vast collection of other second-raters - get Aqua instead."
Great compilation! Love Aqua, Barbie Girl, and 3 new songs!

"So excited all of my favorite Aqua tracks are all together for a great price! Love the 3 new songs. Back To The 80's Rocks. So happy that they are back together!"
Not too terribly heavy...

"If you are looking for some light, bubbly, mindless euro-dance-pop-fluff this should be on your short list. Nothing terribly deep or angst ridden. Perfect for my 7 and 11 year old kids. (Confession - its great work around the house music too for someone MUCH older)."
