"With heavier music seeming stagnant as of late, Architects new album comes as a breath of fresh air. This album is nothing less than a solid 5/5.
Architects seem to have settled comfortably into their niche. This album has much more flow than their previous works. Ruin was by no means a bad album, but is was simply a means to helping the band produce this near perfect cd.
Hollow crown is an excellent work with a very cohesive feel from track to track, more so than most albums I've listened to for some time. This album does an outstanding job highlighting the bands cunning ability to write very heavy music, while still remaining catchy and surprisingly melodic. At any given moment you can be pummeled with breakdowns and brutal screaming then suddenly lifted into a beautiful passage with clean vocals. Architects have without a doubt, perfected this. Even while this album is not quite as "technical" as their other works, it is without a doubt, their best work to date. If for any other reason, buy this album for the title track, it is indescribably beautiful.
The production on this album should definitely be noted as well. Whoever was behind the mixer did a swell job. This is their best "sounding" album/release to date. Every note is played to perfection.
Highly recommend Architects new cd!"
