"Area released four main albums in the 80's and early 90's. Out of print for a very long time, they were re-released by Projekt Records in 1999. Far and away the best of the four are "The Perfect Dream'(second album), and 'Between Purple and Pink'(third). 'Purple' expands upon 'Dreams' by adding Cocteau Twins-esque guitars and stronger songwriting. 'Radio Caroline' sucks, as does 'Fragments of the Morning'. If you like lush melancholy music with a slight 80's feel, Area are the band for you. Similar Artists: Cocteau Twins, Single Gun Theory."
