"The risk you run when buying import classical CDs is that they will eventually get released domestically at a much lower price. Well, such is the case here for yours truly. My review below is still accurate in terms of musical content, so instead of editing it (and losing my helpful votes) just note that this title is no longer an Australian import. Enjoy the savings!"

"I continue to marvel at the lack of attention Julius Katchen garners. About the only acknowledgment he gets is for his Brahms, but he is equally impressive in this set of Beethoven's concertos, especially the 3rd and 5th, the later belonging in the same class as those by Rubinstein/Krips, Serkin/Ormandy or Walter, Michelangeli/Celibidache, Curzon/Kubelik or Knappertsbusch, Arrau/Davis or Haitink and Kempff/van Kempen."
