"The reason why the first reviewer was disappointed was because these records were recorded between Nov 1941 and Feb 1947, BEFORE Art Lund started his solo career. Art did have some big hits on the M-G-M label, but that was later. These are the complete 21 Columbia recordings with Benny Goodman, 3 with Harry James, and obviously the above reviewer either doesn't like, or is not familiar with Mr.Goodman's, or Mr.James', music! Goodman fans worldwide know who Art Lund, (or Art London) was. Originally, Art 'London' joined Benny Goodman's band in 1941, not long after the wonderful Miss Peggy Lee did. 'BG' recorded both of them in a couple of duets, similar to what Jimmy Dorsey was doing at the time with his vocalists, Bob Eberly and Helen O'Connell. Art must have made a good impression on Benny because 'BG' really didn't care much for male vocalists. Most guy singers would last only long enough for one record with the 'King of Swing', so he had to be good! In 1999 Sony-Columbia released the excellent 2- CD set of the Benny Goodman-Peggy Lee recordings, and this Art Lund CD actually 'fills the gap' because alot of these tunes are the 'flip-sides' of those original 78rpm records. In 1946, Art 'Lund' returned to the Goodman band, and was a regular feature on the 'Benny Goodman-Victor Borge Radio Show'. Benny's contract with Columbia Records expired later that year and Art left the band to pursue a solo career."
