CD Reviews

Nicely remastered

(3 out of 5 stars)

"esoteric did a very nice job in remastering this cd. it really sounds nice. my main complaint is i just don't think the second cd was needed. we get a variety of versions of fire, come & buy, and nightmare. there is a short, old interview that really doesn't say a lot except some stories of arthur burning himself on his fire mask. it does have a nice booklet with pictures and bio. is it worth all the hubbub? probably not. i remembered reading in Rue Morgue magazine, issue 84, about him re-releasing (universal was to release it) it with new material added to the disc's original concept, but this isn't it. the single disc with added bonus material is still good, though not as crisp sounding. but if that's important, this is a good buy at a discounted price."
