"Arto is the most thought provoking and heart felt musician to come around since Nana Vasconcelos from Brazil. His music is so beautiful. Each song on this album stands on its own as a tiny masterpiece. The instrumentation is rich with harmonies, melodies, and unusual rhythms that steer away from the west and lean towards the east. If you want to listen to something refreshing, honest, beautiful, inspiring, and just different in every way, then buy any of Arto's solo albums or any of his with his Armenian Navy Band. I am considering a trip to Yerevan, Armenia if these guys never make it back to the states. I have got to see these people live. Check out youtube for Arto's solo with a frame drum and a coke bottle filled with water. It will change your view of music and you'll rethink the canned corporate music you are about to put on! Trust me and better yet....trust Arto! Cheers friends of good music."
An enchanting journey to modern Armenia
