"As with all of Aryeh's albums, "The Secret Bride" is a tribute to the tradition to the Celtic harpers of Ireland, most notably Turlough O'Carolan, a blind and itinerant harper who is credited with bringing Irish Celtic music out of the dark ages and fusing it with the baroque sounds of mainland Europe to give it a new, modern (for the time) flavor. This album also includes pieces by Rory Dall, another harper, like "The Pearl," and one piece penned by Frankfurter himself -- the title track, which is just as stron and beautiful as the other works on this recording."
