"Keep in mind that this CD was,in fact my first Rooster release I've ever heard,even though I've known OF them for ages now.'Devil's...' is a decent compilation of twelve BBC session recordings plus three live tunes that were pulled from a 1972 gig.Carl Palmer are on the first two cuts "Friday The 13th" and
"Seven Lonely Streets".One cannot help but to notice John DuCann's superb vocals and guitar playing on the couple of songs I've just mentioned as well as "Tomorrow Night","Shabooloo",and "Death Walks Behind You".Vocalist Chris Farlowe joined up with Atomic Rooster for a spell that wasn't necessarily a bad move,it's just that he sounds a bit to soulful,for this band anyway.You can hear what I mean on "Stand By Me","Breakthrough","Save Me",and "Close Your Eyes".DuCann later had rejoined to the Rooster camp on the tunes "Play It Again" and "In The Shadows".Should appeal to fans of Uriah Heep,Deep Purple,and perhaps some Zeppelin and ELP followers."
