"I live in proximity to Atwater-Donnelly and have heard them play live...It's an incredible experience and this is probably their best recording. Soulful and poignant yet uplifting. I love their music and so do my step-children. In fact anyone that hears this recording loves it even if they're not fans of folk music. Don't miss this one!"
Wonderful Celtic/American folk

"Atwater-Donnelly (note the 'y') is a folk group from Rhode Island. They've beenplaying together since 1987, and are two of the moving forces behind folk music in thearea. I've been following them since the late 80s, and currently run a web site for them ().This is Aubrey and Elwood's fourth album, and each one improves on the last. It starts off with the powerful revival hymn "Angel Gabriel", and goes on to visit thefather of an Irish immigrant ("Kilkelly"), a murdered mother-to-be ("Omie Wise"),and the fields of Scotland ("Love and Freedom"). There are also traditional instrumentals, and original songs by Elwood.I can't recommend this album highly enough. END"

"This is my favorite of Aubrey and Elwood's albums. Where the Wild Birds Do Whistle may be _better_, but there's something about Willow Tree that talks to me."Kilkelly" almost made me cry the first time I heard it: it still sometimes has that effect."
