Still The Best

"While their musical ability has only continued to increase on 4AM Friday and Over The James (the albums which followed it), Dixie is still the most textured and soulful of Avail's albums. Its urgency never fades or softens, even with repeated and repeated and repeated listenings. The same heartfelt emotion and intense melodies that drove the looser and gentler Satiate drive Dixie, but here it manifests itself with a harder edged, almost D.C. style of punk rock that has - with their more recent albums - gelled to become Avail's unique punk sound. This is the kind of album you can't just listen to. It gets inside you, adrenalizes you, pumps your blood and forces you to sing (or scream) along. This is the kind of album you FEEL. Moreso than Satiate, Dixie is the raw, energetic, and passionate blueprint for a band that has become one of the most powerful and affecting punk bands working today. They're incredible live, too."
Avail is the best band ever to grace this planet

"Ok, maybe that is a bit of an overstatement. However I am still baffled that anyone could dislike this cd. Great lyrics and original music. Wait a minute though, this is not standard pop-punk, you better not give it more than a single listen. Being close minded is probably better."

"This cd is amazing. Give it a chance. Open your mind to something different before you bash something you really don't understand."
