A new sound-a still great band

"something can be called great when it cannot be compared to anything else. being a loser like i am, i could almost predict the fad that was twilight compared to an everlasting harry potter series just because twilight was called "the next harry potter". how many times has this happened? how many nexts michael jordans have their been? a hundred. how many have become everything jordan was, on and off the court? none. because greatness is finding a new path that no one found before. and thats just what A7X has done.



i will admit, i was nervous about this album. sounding the seventh trumpet was good, for kids in high school, and i was a classic rock purist anyway. then i heard waking the fallen. wow, they have talent and can right coherent non-screaming songs other than "warmness on the soul" a great song despite bad lyrics and "streets" which felt unfinished. and then it was city of evil, their most successful album for a reason. it was their best, plainly put. they had created a new place like zeppelin, the beatles, nirvana, the who, hendrix, and gnr had done before them. and yet, they are not new versions of these bands. a great guitarist the best drummer in the world and a strong voice has been used before, but their song writing talent was the beauty. to arrange songs in the way they do is talent beyond any other band today. this album is great in its own right, and different from the others. stand out tracks such as a little piece of heaven, gunslinger, dear god, and lost are special because their different from the past albums. critical acclaim is great just because i agree with it, but thats besides the point. a great album from the best band of the decade, avenged sevenfold will not disappoint."
