CD Reviews

An absolute superb performance!
Jose Manuel Recillas | Mexico city, best place in the world! | 02/15/2006
(5 out of 5 stars)

"The keyboard sonatas by Domenico Scarlatti are one of the most spectacular musical corpus of all times. He wrote them as little pieces or excersises when he was a teacher of the queen of Portugal. Extremely difficult, they are more than excersises, as well are the Bach's klavier Übung in Germany. Charles Avison, an english composer, although his name seems to be of french origin, decided to orchestrated some of them, and make an extraordinary work of reconstruction in order to find the way that sound in a coherent and unitarian way. The result is an absolute original work, based in a musical corpus that acquires a new life and sonority.

This particular performance by Cafe Zimmermann is absolutly brilliantly played, full of life, passion and imagination, bring into life a spectacular group of concerti grossi as you will never hear it. This is an absolute superb performance.

Yuo'll feel as if you where in heaven and return to a better place."
