CD Reviews

ANOTHER GREAT ONE FROM AXEL RUDI PELL
ZaF | Lima, Peru | 10/20/2003
(5 out of 5 stars)

"COMPARISONS ARE ANOYING, BUT JUST FOR THE ONES WHO DONT KNOW AXEL RUDI PELL, I MUST SAY HE IS A STRANGE FUSION BETWEEN THE FEELING OF RITCHIE BLACKMORE AND THE SPEED OF YNGWIE MALMSTEEN.

STILL, THAT BLEND GIVES HIM A SOUND OF HIS OWN.

ANOTHER COOL THING ABOUT MR. PELL IS THAT ALL OF HIS ALBUMS ARE GREAT. BUT "MAGIC" IS ONE OF THE BEST ONES. COOL SONGS, GREAT GUITAR WORK AND AN OUT STANDING VOCALIST LIKE JEFF SCOT SOTO.

THIS IS A CLEAR EXAMPLE OF WHAT PEOPLE MISS WHILE THEY ARE PROGRAMMED BY THE MAINSTREAM TO HEAR CRAPY BANDS LIKE LIMP BIZKIT OR BLINK 18SOMETHING...

GET THIS RECORD... IT ASSURES YOU GREAT GUITAR PLAYING AND AN AMAZING SINGER."
Guitar God!

(5 out of 5 stars)

"Axel Rudy Pell is perhaps the greatest unknown (in the US) metal guitarist today. He plays in the style of Ritchie Blackmore, but harder and faster. A reviewer said Axel "plays like he has only one day left to live", which is not an exaggeration. If you miss the melodic heavy metal of the 80's, or are a Blackmore/Rainbow fan, you owe it to yourself to listen to this disc!"
Outstanding melodic metal
ZaF | 10/21/1999
(5 out of 5 stars)

"I've been an ARP covert since I bought "Eternal Prisoner" several years ago. Pell writes classic melodies with memorable hooks, and this album, along with "Between the Walls" and "Oceans of Time" is his best. JSS has a great voice, although I prefer Johnny Gioeli; however, whatever the reviewer below me says, Axel plays guitar beautifully, and within the context of each song. Note the soft texture of his solos on "Eyes of the Lost". Altogether, an excellent album and one I play very frequently. ."
