"Azymuth had recorded this CD before they split at the end of 1989 (they came back together though around 1995), but anyway, this is a super classic album among their repertoire, another precious gem in their never-ending list of amazing recordings.
Here you have everything that makes Azymuth albums winners every time; solid performances by Jose Roberto Bertrami, Alex Malheiros and Ivan (Mamao) Conti in each of their instruments, you have smooth/intelectual compositions -Love Beat-, -Labaredas-, -Guaratiba- etc. based primarily on Jazz; you also have lots of funk like in -Toque de Cuica-, and enough Brazilian Samba percussions to spice up the mix.
Here Azymuth's guests are also key to the high note of the album:
Jose Carlos Ramos on Flute and Soprano Sax
Jurim Moreira on Drums
Paulo Russo on Acoustic Bass
If you're in the interesting task of collecting Azymuth or Brazilian Jazz CDs, this should be at the top of your check list."
