"I was 14 years old in 1972 when the Billy Joe Thomas LP came out. A friend of mine who was a big fan of BJ introduced me to this record. Hmm...simple title...lots of pictures here and there...after placing the needle on the first song, "That's What Friends Are For," I had to hear the rest of the album and I loved it. Did I say that I REALLY loved it? Well...let me tell ya, I'm a big fan of the Allman Brothers Band and I'll always be, but for many years I've been trying to find this Billy Joe Thomas LP. I've came across many, but did not buy them because the LPs'condition was either scratchy or had a lot of skips. I gave up.
I just turned 50 years old in July. The same month I was looking through the Amazon site and decided on impulse and typed in Billy Joe Thomas...BINGO!!!! There it is in all it's glory the album I've been looking for for 36 years is right in front of me. I decided to buy it. Today I received it. I immediately placed it in the CD drive and started to listen to it. From That's What Friends Are For to the last song, The Stories We Can Tell. I used up a whole box of kleenex.
Folks, I'm proud to own this CD. Words cannot say how thrilled I am to have it. It'll be around me as long as I live. It ain't goin' nowhere!
