"Bach: Toccata & Fugue; Passacaille~ Johann Sebastian Bach is a great recording with the legendary French organist Marie-Claire Alain. I would without a doubt or with any reservations say that she is one the finest organist and well in league my personal favorite E Power Biggs. Playing Bach is very demanding and to do it right requires both time, effort and innate ability. Ms Alain showcases on this that she plays with fervor, skill and emotion that one rarely hears. The book-let is a mixed bag but one can says that it is sufficient without being as nice as I would have wanted it to be. The photographs are a bit small and the painting on the back is a bit blurry. The essay written by Alain and translated by Underwood is very well written and concise. This is a recording not to be missed and I give it 5 well deserved stars.
