A sad sign of things that could have been

"This is, sadly, what could have been a definitive album for Bad Boys Blue. After two typically Euro-sounding releases (the 2nd of which, Heartbeat, is probably my fave release of theirs), the Bad Boys Blue took a stab at making a more serious pop album.
Pigeon-holed with typical Euro acts Modern Talking, Sandra, and C.C. Catch - all of which I enjoy - the boys turned in an album that went for a more polished and varied sound. Sure, there were the typical Euro sounds, like Gimme Gimme Gimme Your Lovin and Kiss U All Over, but they departed from predictability with more r & b sounding tracks, like Inside of Me and Why (Misty Eyes), the latter of which is my favourite song on this disc.
Also of note, this was the last ablum that Trevor Taylor would be the featured vocalist; he was gone from the band after the next album, and was not the featured vocalist on that work. Trevor's deep and husky voice was part of Bad Boys Blue's disctinctive sound, and unfortunately, John McInerney would take over vocals.
When Trevor left, the fire in the band left, and instead of continuing to grow, the band turned out one mostly-average Euro album after another. Sure, there were some decent enough tracks, but this album was BBB's best shot at becoming a major international act, and Trevor's last hurrah.
This album is a must have for serious Bad Boys Blue fans. While I think Heartbeat is my FAVOURITE album (only because of the song Kisses & Tears, which is by far my fave BBB song ever), I would have to call this the BEST album the boys ever put out..."
