CD ReviewsLooking for glam rock nostalgia? This is *THE* CD!!!! pele5474 | 08/03/2004 (5 out of 5 stars) "Why oh why did Seattle hit when it did?? This was the one band that was going to break out BIG TIME. Though they received moderate exposure in metal magazines and their first video "Young and the Restless", they were more well known at the Sunset Strip clubs. Love Sells is a masterpiece of catchy, somewhat poppy, raw rock and roll that can only be truly captured on that first album. The line up consists of Jet Silver on lead vocals, Scott Stevens and Kjartan Kristoffersen on guitars, Achon Inc on drums and Scott Earl on bass. The track list is as follows: 1-Pedal to the Metal (AWESOME hard driving song!) 2- 20th Century Boy (T-Rex would be proud, excellent cover!) 3- Neon Fairytale- (Very sweet, catchy ballad. Released in Japan I think) 4- Young and the Restless (their only major US release. You might've caught it on Headbangers Ball in the early 90's. Very cool song) 5- You Make the Beat Go On (Sexy tune, good guitar) 6- Be A Model (Or Just Look Like One)- (Catchy cheeky tune after the old "Barbizon" modeling ads) 7- Dangerous (Tracii Guns of LA Guns makes a guest guitar appearance on this one) 8- Thrill After Thrill (Another winner, good backing vocals) 9- BMG (Be My Girl)- (A beautiful acoustic ballad any girl would love to have sung to her) Had this come out in 1988, everyone would know who the Bang Gang was. Do yourself a favor and GET THIS!! It's worth any amount of money you have to pay for it. I bought the cassette because when I met Achon, the drummer, in 1991 I foolishly thought the CD thing was a phase! LOL! Now my tape is warped and I will cherish the CD (and make a BACK UP copy for sure!). If you want to know what a few band members are up to now, Achon has a website www.ptheclown.com and www.albertart.com and Scott Stevens is in a band called The Exies. Scott Earl remixed and released their follow up demos called Vanity Kills sans KJ and Achon (though he thanks them in the jacket) in 2002. It's good but it's no Love Sells. I hear KJ is now an architect and the illustrious Jet Silver's whereabouts remain a mystery." Underappreciated Indiegrrl74 | Portland, OR USA | 02/06/2004 (5 out of 5 stars) "This is an excellent CD. Unfortunately it was released at a time when everyone was a rockstar, and a lot of bands got lost in the chaos. Bang Gang "shoulda been a contenda." They had a great sound, great image, and an excellent disc. It's a shame that they kinda fell through the cracks. Anyone looking to add a "hidden gem" to their hair band collection should pick this up. There's also a second release that came out in '02 called "Vanity Kills." Definitely another worth owning."
