She started performing her own material and scored a huge hit in 1965 with "Yes I'm Ready" (# 5 Pop, # 2 R&B), which established Barbara as a top-notch soul performer, and audiences grew to love her unique blend of smooth soul-pop. All in all, Barbara chalked up eleven pop and eighteen R&B hits between 1965 and 1984. Over the past few years, Barbara has returned to the talent that has always been her special gift - the art of songwriting, and, for the first time in almost twenty years, has decided to record an album of entirely new material.
