CD Reviews

GREAT!
Julio Lopez | Santiago, Chile | 05/09/2008

"This movie soundtrack is as good as the Broadway original recording, with Barbra Streisand in both cases. A wonderful musical approach to the life of the divine Fanny Brice from the Zigfeld Follies. Classical songs with Streisand at her very best moment. Not to be missed."
The absolute best
V. Corum | St. Louis MO | 10/07/2009

"I remember seeing (and hearing) this movie when it first came out and falling in love both with the story and the wonderful music. I have listened to this sound track so many times that I can, literally, sing along with every nuance and word practically perfect (although this is best done while alone as I am definitely not a singer).

I wore out the album that I originally purchased (don't do the math...I am old) and for some reason didn't buy a replacement. When I did I bought the sound track from the broadway classic which, while still entertaining, was not what I was accustomed to (meaning I couldn't sing along with such sublime perfection...sound not included).

Then imagine my delight when I discovered the sound track from the movie right here on Amazon. I rushed to buy it and it came in record time. Now, much to my neighbors chagrin, I am belting out each and every number, albeit it somewhat off key, at whatever hour the mood strikes me.

If you are a Streisand fan and you like good and, sometimes, sorta campy music then this is the CD for you. And if you happen to have had the good fortune to live a little while and remember this from the "good old days" then owning this is a great experience even if you can't sing but don't care and will give it a loud and satisfying attempt."
