CD Reviews

New Orleans Groups

"It's unbeleivable how such incredible talent woulod not come to be recognized at the national level. The last members of this group, Lloyd Shepard (aka Zootie), Karl Matthews (aka Koo) and James Youngblood (aka KP), scored big with the 45 record titled "I'm So Lonely" and it's flip side "Some Kind Of Fool".They were a great group and would have went "Big Time" if they would have been backed by a major label."
Covers all the bases

"From the vintage Counts-like funk of "Making it Better" to the super sweet "Kid Stuff" the Barons don't mind changing up the grooves in attempting to break into the big time. It never happened, but thanks to the vinyl gurus at Tuff City we can all enjoy the ride. Any Baron's 45 is gonna go for big money, and you'll hear why. The diversity of the material (and it's all heartfelt and dope, done by the cream of the New Orleans funky-soul producers) makes this better than some other rare soul band comps."
A real steal

"Top notch Temptations, Four Top Vocal interplay, Excellent tight production, singing and songs. Disregard cheesy cover, and sweet soul description, this isn't Curtis Mayfield, but funky Motown.

A screaming buy.Listen to the song samples, other than last four songs, everything sounds like prime early 70's big bottom soul."
