Amazon.comThroughout his 20-plus-year career, dancehall master Barrington Levy has made it look easy, spooling out hit after hit after hit. Levy's kept himself relevant to today's postmodern dancehall/hip-hop audience via duets with such younger titans as Beenie Man (their remake of Levy's classic "Under Mi Sleng Teng") and the Warlord, Bounty Killer (the international crossover phenomenon "Living Dangerously"). His signature vocal stylings helped Bad Boy's one-trick-pony, Shyne, score his own hit single, "Bad Boyz." So, with all this fresh, new material, why pick up an album that's over a decade old? Because, quite simply, it rocks. Admittedly, the music, driven by synthesizer and drum machine, is a bit dated, but it's Levy's voice, effortlessly wending its way through the melodies, that people are checking for. There are many gems to be found on Love the Life You Live, among them the heartbreak anthem "Too Experienced," the title song, and the sound-system battle cry "Two Sounds." --Rebecca Levine
