Valuable, but misleading

"This is not the original Barry Goldberg & Friends but a re-release of the Two Jews/Reunion CD (with the exception of the replacement of 'Spirit of Trane' with 'The Answers in Your Head'). It is still a brilliant recording for fans of Goldberg and especially Michael Bloomfield (his tribute to Hendrix on 'Jimi the Fox' kicks). Harvey Mandel, Charlie Musselwhite, Duane Allman and Eddie Hinton all guest on various tracks. The CD has its excellent moments as well as a few tunes that sound dated and weak, but still it is essential for fans. For my money it is still hard to beat the original Barry Goldberg & Friends which was re-released on CD on Laserlight as Nothin' But the Blues: Barry Goldberg & Friends. Apparently, there was also a Barry Goldberg & Friends Live that was even more incredible (which I am still looking for!)."
