"lo-fi ... blues ... punk ... folk ... The Bassholes are a beautiful amalgam and I think this one is their best."
Punk does not get better than this

"In this mix of folk, rock'n'roll and garage the Bassholes achieve a sound so rough and unrefined that was never recreated since.
Terrific album."

""Cigarette Blues" is one of my all-time favorite songs. Ripe with double entendre (cigarette as a phallic symbol), "Cigarette Blues" rips out of its cage like rattler at a snakehandling. This music is raw - there is no punk rock out there today that can match the intensity of this record. Its a punkified white trash country blues masterpiece. Imagine the Anthology of American Folk Music being played by lunatics with amplifiers - that's Blue Roots."
