CD ReviewsFantastic Debut from electronic wonder kid Kyle Freeland | Mountain Home AFB, Idado USA | 07/21/2010 (5 out of 5 stars) "Was browsing through the internet looking for new music as always and suprising ran across "Cerulean" by baths. Electronicly, this is remarkably fresh. Listening to this album is like listening to m83's deranged cousin, its spontanous but the beats are stable and hits hard. Its an album that feeds the needs of electronic addicts. "Bedroom electro-rock" is ussually the term used when reading about "Baths", and this couldn't be true. Anyone that has ever sat down at a piano or gave a shot at making any kind of electronic music knows the difficulty of making something truly original. For this artist this was not the case. I image alot of time and nights pounding away at the keyboard created beats like "Maximalist" which seem completly in tune with the trickling noises and bass. What sold me was the ussage of piano to keep the progression and the bass over all of it on the song "Heart". And the beats just keep rolling throughout the entire album. Overall, this is a unique album full of sound that make you want to come back and visit over and over."
