Funny, funky industrial

"Before Disposeable Heroes, before Spearhead, there was the Beatnigs. This is a delightful album mixing heavy industrial sounds with funk/hiphop rhythms. There's also some marvelous political humor, such as the reading of race classifications in aparteid-era South Africa, or the mini-song parodies in "Burritos." A must for fans of the left-of-center, off-center, and off-the-wall."

"I got into Michael Franti about fifteen years ago with The Disposable Heros Of Hiphopracy... You hear the youth of a few of their songs on here, and as great as Disposable Heros were, this album does well to stand for itself!"
