"Beausoleil is dynamite both live & on this CD. I had the pleasure of attending a concert locally, where the audience was, literally, dancing in the aisles ...you couldn't keep 'em in their seats, those who had a penchant to dance, that is ... to the obvious delight of the band. This band is *that* good. My favorite track is "Chanson de Mardi Gras". The rhythm, the instruments, the melodies, the "Cajun" accent (most songs are in French), the whole package is "just right". It is a joyous sound, a high energy beat, a passionate musical appeal to the senses. Friends and I took a two and a half hour road trip (it was in 1989, when the CD was new) and we had a grand time playing this CD (I think it was a cassette tape, at the time). Very soon, all of us were singing along, humming or otherwise tapping out the music with our feet or fingers. This is Cajun country music at its finest, a fiddle, a "sqeeeze box", and a guy with a great Cajun (French) voice singing about love and loss and everything in between ... If authentic, traditional folk and country music is of any interest to you - this CD is a "must have". Erika Borsos (erikab93)"

"Seeing BeauSoleil live is worth every minute of driving or flying to get to them. I've done both; needless to say, I'm a fairly rabid fan. What I like about this album is that I can play it over and over, listening to *live* music. Their concerts are rampant with inviting energy that makes one want to sing along or dance like no one's watching. This album captures that spirit. It's a great way to exercise; you'll never tire of either the music or the movement.



Songs of note: Plus tu tornes, Chanson du cafe, La Betaille, oh heck, the whole thing. It's all good. BeauSoleil en vie long."
