"This collection is not authorized by Becker & Fagen & certainly the sound is not perfect but the material supercedes the sound. These tracks were recorded between 1968 & 1971 & feature musicians Kenny Vance (drums,keyboards & b-vox), Denny Dias (guitar & percussion), John Discepolo (drums), Keith Thomas (lead & b-vox) & Elliot Randall (guitar). Of the 21 tracks, Brooklyn (Owes the Charmer), Any World (That I'm Welcome To), Barrytown (listed as Berrytown), Charlie Freak (listed as Charlie Free), Caves of Altamira (mistakenly listed on package as Android Warehouse) & Parkers's Band were all released on future "Dan" albums. Other tracks include Brain Tap Shuffle, Mock Turtle Song, Yellow Peril, Soul Ram, Ida Lee, You Go Where I Go, This Seat's Been Taken, More To Come, A Little With Sugar, Take It Out On Me, Roaring Of The Lamb, Sun Mountain (Fagen on piano version), A Horse In Town, Stone Piano, & Oh Wow It's you. Hidden gems include Mock Turtle Song (Becker vocal), Soul Ram (Keith Thomas vocal), You Go Where I Go, A Little With Sugar & Oh Wow It's You Again. Overall sound quality is a 3 & overall music quality is a 5 so we'll grade this one a 4."
