"John O'Conor's piano work is not only flawless, but even better is the way he hides the difficulty of these sonatas. He doesn't draw attention to his own technique, but let's you listen to Beethoven piano work. As one critic wrote: "Every note connects to every other note just right, every dynamic shift is effected perfectly, and every transition is seamless." This disc with the recording of the "Pastoral" piano sonata is pure magic and one of the best I've ever heard. The other sonatas (Op. 31 no. 1 & 3) are also very enjoyable. John O'Conor's Beethoven piano sonatas are one of the best kept secerts in the world of classical music recordings.
