"Nobody's just playing the notes on these recordings. Everything is phrased beautifully, with a perfect balance between vigor and elegance.
The digitally remastered late `60s recordings sound superb and at $8 for 2 CDs it's a must have!

"These are fairly enjoyable pieces. The Mendelssohn and Schubert Octets are especially good. The Beethoven works are enjoyable, but not what I would consider brilliant. They are classical works, not as romantic as the Schubert and Mendelsssohn. The Mendelssohn Octet is quite good, especially the first and third movements. The sound, while maybe not the highest quality, is good. Recommended to anyone who loves classical chamber music.
