"This collaboration is surprisingly effective. A must CD for anyone who uses music to achieve meditative introspection or just simply to relax."

"This album contains two tracks Movement One which lasts 37 minutes and Movement Two which lasts 14 minutes. Both tracks are very relaxing and meditative. Hari Prasad does a great job performing with the Orchestra and vise verca. Great CD to buy which won't go out of date. I was programming and listening to it and did not feel how time passed by."
Being Still

"East meets West has been a description used many times before to describe World Music. In the CD Being Still, the effect is that of a traditional Indian Classical Bansuri Flute Raga but in the form of a Two Movement Flute Concerto. The use of Kenneth Lauber's String Chamber Orchestra utilizing ambiant chordal interplay between the flute and strings is very different and offers the listener a chance to kick back and truely become absorbed by the effect of this 'sacred' Hindustani music which becomes secular in its accesability.Hariprasdad Chaurasia continues to create an unforgetable tone and original interrpetation of the Raga form. You might not be able to hear this on the radio these days but you can still find that the extended works are perfect for Yoga, relaxation and meditation techniques. If you've got some nervous friends this will be perfect to calm them down."

"'Lite' music. I love Chaurasia's other work but this does not have the same depth. Buy 'Call of the Valley' instead. Music can be relaxing and engaging."
