Little gem

"If you fancy a live bluegrass flatpicking extravaganza I recommend this little gem over the recent Watson/Scruggs/Skaggs release. Not that it's purely bluegrass, what with Beppe Gambetta mixing in some reworkings of Italian folk tunes to great effect. Anyone who knows anything about modern bluegrass should know Dan Crary's stuff. The more unfamiliar Gambetta is a masterful player in his own right, up there with the likes of Crary himself, Tony Rice, Doc Watson, Norman Blake, Steve Kaufman and David Grier. The playing is crisp and warm and of the highest standard with some blistering runs, knocking the spots of most supposed rock guitar virtuosos. Several tracks are interspersed with some nice light heated banter, but not too much but enough to create atmosphere. All in all an essential purchase for all fans of guitar music and/or bluegrass."

"I saw these two guys on stage a little while ago. The most amazing thing I'd ever heard. I said to myself, I've got to get a recording. Synergia captures the feel and the sound that Crary and Gambetta on stage. Their little chats to the audience are spot on!I highly recommend this recording to anyone who likes good guitar work."
