"Paraguayan composer and guitarrist Agustin Barrios(1885-1944)
along with the Mexican Manuel Ponce and the Venezuelan Antonio Lauro(1917-1986) are among the best guitarrist composers of Latin-America. Barrios called himself "A true brother of the troubadors", and gave himself the name Mangore, after a Guarani indian chief. The present recording includes music by Barrios, some of it has come down to us by manuscripts, and others only by old recordings of the composer himself playing his own music.Berta Rojas does a wonderful job."
Berta Rojas is a class act!

"Berta, I love your CD and your music. I wish all the guitarists from Peabody played like you, including the teachers. Congratulations !"

"Barrios was both a guitarist's guitarist and a musician's musician, and he finds a capable and sensitive interpreter in Berta Rojas, who brings a delicate touch to these wonderful pieces. No less a guitarist than John Williams has said of Barrios that he was the greatest composer for guitar ever. A big claim, but one that you may be inclined to agree with after listening to Ms. Rojas' exceptional disc."
