"Two Greats at their Best. This CD is a good collection of old style salsa (the best there is). Richie Rey is the best salsa pianoist I know of, mixing great sounds from Jazz, Bach and Stravinsky into afrocuban rooted music. This is an excelent CD. I recommend it to anyone who is willing to experience real salsa at its best."
Salsa's best horn and piano combo

"Newcommers to this album will be stunned by the powerful horn section this combo was able to assemble. From the beginning, this album creates a fast paced and fiery salsa sound, truly letting us know why it is that the old salseros are called the "Monsters of salsa" in Puerto Rico.
Track 3 (Amaro Arebato) features stunning horns as well, but then breaks into a piano riff that will blow the soul out your speakers like no one has! Guguanco Raro and Sonido Bestial also highlight this band's talents on the horns and piano. In some parts, Sonido Bestial is able to succesfully fuse classical music with salsa and the result is uncanny.
For those who want to know more about Salsa music when it was at it's best, give this album a try. If you have heard this album and want more of Richie Ray and Bobby Cruz, check out their Jammin' Live album, which also features vocals by the sultry Viki Vimari."
