The Best Voice I've Heard In My 38 Years On The Planet!

"I recently attended a small concert at a coffee shop on the campus of Olivet Nazarene University, Bourbonnais, Illinois. I had heard Dillon's song Beautiful on the radio, and my daughter won tickets to this cozy (200 people or so) event. I need to add a few more things before I continue; I have been a music fan my entire life. I have been to so many concerts I can't even remember half of them - everything from Wayne Newton to the Scorpions. Ten years ago I switched to Christian music only, and I have seen almost every single artist in concert at least once, some two or three times. I currently own around one hundred Christian music CDs, and I only listen to Christian radio - SHINE.FM - you guys rock! Now all that said, Bethany Dillon has the most amazing voice I have ever heard, and now listen to this folks, she can write songs and play the guitar quite well too! She is the real deal, and I'm not just saying that because I know her or in any way shape or form receive a financial reward from her CD sales; because neither is true. My review is based only on her performance. Dillon has one of those unique voices that grabs your heart. Combine that with her ability to write songs that stir your soul, and you have the greatest up-an-coming artist in the Christian music business; and that business includes changing people's lives. Every song on this CD delivers the emotion, the heart, and the amazing God-given talents of this young woman. She has wisdom and character well beyond her years. Her lyrics seem to be heaven sent, and her attitude toward the ministry she is providing is never self-centered; she knows Who her boss is. I was going to rate each song individually, but I enjoyed all of them equally - so it would sound like the same story for all eleven songs. I guess if I had to pick one song at the top of list, it would be "Aimless". Its lyrics tell the story of chasing after a love that is never enough, when real love is truly calling us; I think this song and all of Bethany's music is a message from heaven. Thank God she took up the challenge and delivered the package; in today's world, most fifteen-year-old girls would have stamped "return to sender" on the calling and just walked away. I believe her music can bring more young people back to the kind of love that will not leave you empty.Bethany Dillon is the real deal. She's walking in the light. I say we join her in that journey!See ya next review.

Young Talent With A Bright Future

"I admit when I first read all the glowing reviews for Bethany Dillon, I was wary. So often we hear hype about new artists, and they seldom live up to the buzz. I listened to songs clips on her website, but couldn't decide whether to purchase her cd. Finally, I took a leap of faith and bought it, and I haven't regretted that decision for a second. The clips really don't do the album justice, in my opinion. Bethany is truly buzzworthy - a talented singer, songwriter, and musician who refuses to take the easy way out. Drawing both on scriptural references and personal experiences, Bethany has crafted an album that demands reflection and repeated listening. The confessional tone of songs like "Beautiful" and "Why" are perfectly juxtaposed with the assuredness of numbers such as "All I Need", "Exodus(Faithful)" or "Great Big Mystery" ("Nations fall when You speak and You have spoken over me"). When listeners examine themselves, they will probably find that they share many of the same hopes, fears, struggles, and joys that Bethany experiences, no matter what age. This is an album that is both positive and pondering and certainly one of the best purchases I made last year."

"(Reviewed by John's daughter, not John himself.)
One time I went on a 91.9 Concert and I heard Bethany sing the song "Beautiful." Her voice was so lovely, and the song so touching that the next day I went out and bought the Cd. I'm very glad I did.
For, often I play the music at night when I have trouble sleeping and sing along. The songs all reflect my heart, and listening them is a great way to give me renewed faith and bring me to peace.
I encourage all who are struggling in any way to get this CD... you won't regret it!"
An Amazing Voice

"This is one teenager with a truly amazing voice. With a voice like this at 15, it will be a real treat to hear it when it has matured a bit. She may be in a category by herself by the time she is twenty.
Bethany has the best super young voice I've heard since Lean Rimes first started singing professionally at twelve or whatever she was at the time.
This CD has a big advantage over even Rimes. Bethany Dillon has meaningful songs with well written Christian lyrics. With those words added to her sound, she has a truly incredible combination.
One interesting thing to me is the first song 'Revolutionaries.' On that song, her voice sounds a lot like Jennifer Knapp, who is one of my favorites. In the rest of the songs, her sound is quite different, but equally good.
Some of the songs that I think are particularly good are: 'Revolutionaries', 'Beautiful', and 'All I Need'. None of the songs on this album is a dud though.
Although I hadn't heard her before, I will definitely be watching for her recordings in the future."
Young and Absolutely Amazing

"Not only does Dillon have incredible musical talent, her lyrics are mindblowing. She says what we are thinking. In "Beautiful" it talks about our inner thoughts of wanting to be seen as beautiful, worthy, and lovable. It's amazing that at her young age she is able to express herself so wonderfully to connect with her audience. Her songs can also be very worshipful, as they all recognize God's goodness and point back to Him. I would love to meet this girl someday, no other girl at her age have I seen with such depth."
