"Well, finally we get the Wadsworth & friends recital LP re-issued on CD. I always loved that recording and am pleased to see it available again and that is why I'm giving this collection 5 stars.
The rest of the material has been previously released in collection and complete form several times already and I do take issue with Deutsche Grammophon for that.
They still have yet to release her complete "Norma" which is deserving of being re-issued. There's also the French Arias disc which has appeared piece-meal here and there, but has not shown up in its complete form with the ENTIRE "Les Huguenots" aria "O Beau Pays De La Touraine!" (I've only known of it showing up on CD truncated.)Also, the Donizetti/Bellini recital which was put out on CD by Millenium could be improved upon with a new remastering and rerelease.
And if I'm not mistaken, when the "lost" Verdi arias made their way to the public in the 1980s I seem to recall mention that there were some Rossini arias recorded during those sessions as well!
Anyway, DG, I wish you would finish releasing the entire Sills catalogue instead of throwing the listeners and fans bits and pieces on compilation discs!"

"What a beautiful compilation! Especially remarkable are the scenes from the 1972 recording of "Les contes d'Hoffmann," with bass-baritone Norman Treigle and mezzo-soprano Susanne Marsee (in her sole commercial recording). The entire "Beverly Sills Concert" (recorded earlier the same year) has finally been released on Compact Disc, and it contains florid singing of a breath-taking quality from the soprano."
