Live Jazz with yesterday's tribalism

""Big Cliff" is a great live jazz session! It can burn and some segments are hypnotic. Billy's violin adds new textures and the violin is one instrument in the jazz world we do not hear enough of. Ari on tenor sax and piano is challenged by billy to play pretty solos or angular solos. Sparks and magic are the result, with wonderful pulsating rhythms perculating underneath. So enjoy! The EHE's "The Continuum" recording is excellent also. African rhythms with solos of spiritual fire, that create mystery and magic; is a favorite jazz style of mine. Great recordings in this style are: Art Ensemble of Chicago-"Fanfare for the Warriors"; Ernest Dawkins New Horizons Ensemble "vol 1" and "vol 2"; Pharoah Sanders "Karma" and "Rejoice"; Billy Harper "Somalia"; Randy Weston "Khepera"; Abdullah Ibrahim "Water from an Ancient Well"; and Codona "Codona" (a Don Cherry band)"
