CD ReviewsYou should check this band out. Freddy Frontloader | California | 11/07/2004 (5 out of 5 stars) "This is one of those little-known bands that deserves much wider recognition. (Formerly known as Lazy Boy, they were forced to change their name...) It's excellent instrumental music. Kind of reminds me of David Lynch films... deep and spooky. Lots of vibrato on the guitar, elements of rockabilly, surf, and jazz - but trying to label it doesn't do the music justice. Take my word for it and check it out." Link wray meets micky spillane peppergomez | chapel hill, nc | 07/09/2007 (5 out of 5 stars) "this a superb album of instrumentals played with stand-up bass (often bowed instead of plucked, making it as melodic an instrument as the guitar), reverb drenched rockabilly/jazz guitar (reminiscent of marc ribot's playing on "rain dogs" by tom waits), and aggressive and inventive percussion. it's a shame that amazon doesn't have sound clips, so you'll have to take it on faith that this music is fantastic. fans of everything from flat duo jets to charles mingus should check this out. it's as if link wray was playing a noir-ish jazz standard like 'harlem nocturne'. furthermore, there's not a bum track on the entire cd, which is pleasantly unusual. finally, this is music that works really well as background music (what with no lyrics and hardly any singing), or in the foreground, since the ideas and playing are good enough to pay attention to. google the band and check out their myspace page, which offers a few good mp3 clips. emusic also has the bands entire catalog. the band has a new cd entitled 'postcards from x', which amazon doesn't have listed yet." Soulful Goodness Crackerbat | Portland, Oregon | 08/13/2007 (5 out of 5 stars) "These guys are great. Wonderful trio. You can get all their albums at the band's website (which amazon won't let me publish--do a google search for big lazy and you'll find it) and for 12 bucks and more of the proceeds go to support the artist this way. You can also find out more about the band's history and tour information. You'll not be dissapointed. I first caught these guys on the best network television show ever; Homicide: Life On The Street, and have been listening and enjoying ever since. Moody instrumental grooves with influences ranging from blues, jazz, rock, latin, etc. Enjoy!"
