CD Reviews

THEIR BEST WORK TO DATE
ROCCO COLLETTI | DEKALB, IL USA | 06/29/2004
(5 out of 5 stars)

"THIS FOURTH STUDIO EFFORT CONTINUES THE TREND OF EACH ALBUM BETTERING ITS PREDECESSOR. TEXAS FIREBALL KICKS OFF THE ALBUM WITH GREAT ENERGY,RAY CHARLES CAN SEE IS A HAUNTING ROCKER,AND JAZZ 88 IS AN ANTHEM-IN-WAITING. THIS GROUP CONTINUES TO GROW AND IS ONE OF ROCK & ROLL'S BEST KEPT SECRETS."
THE WU AT THEIR FINEST
ROCCO COLLETTI | DEKALB, IL USA | 06/29/2004
(5 out of 5 stars)

"THE BIG WU IS ONE OF THOSE RARE BANDS WHOSE WORK GETS BETTER WITH EACH ALBUM. I THOUGHT THEIR LAST EFFORT, SPRING REVERB, COULDNT BE TOPPED......I WAS WRONG. HOPEFULLY, WE WONT HAVE TO WAIT 2 YEARS FOR THE NEXT ALBUM, WHICH, IF THIS TREND CONTINUES, WILL BE A MASTERPIECE."
Ups and Downs
Nicholas Shaw | Central, SC United States | 06/30/2004
(4 out of 5 stars)

"Tool for Evening is an interesting addition to the studio efforts from a band which delivers well recorded albums. Terry VanDeWalker continues to mature as a phenominal songwriter. The album is well mized and very solid. I would recomend purchasing this album, but if you are jsut getting into the Wu, Folktales is probably a better start. If you are an avid fan, keep in mind those ripping dual guitar lines that made the Wu unique are no longer there. This is a big dissapointment, and the absence of the second guitar can be felt especially on songs like jazz."
