"This CD nicely fits nicely into the After Hours series. It really does sound like a 2:00 AM set. If you like Bill Evans and are also a little adventurous, I think you'll like this. Carrothers and his trio play things slow and tender--they take unconventional approaches to some of the songs. They play with such feeling and sincerity that you will gladly fall under their early morning spell. Carrothers has harmonic sense like nobody else on the jazz scene today. If you like what you hear, search for Bill Carrothers on the net to buy more recordings--especially those with drummer Bill Stewart: "A Band in All Hope" "Ghost Ships" "Duets" "Armistice Day""
