"This fine set by Lady Day sees her with Oscar Peterson on classic standards. Her voice is somewhere between her pre-war clarity and the artsy wreck just prior to her demise.
The wonderful O.P. is great as always. He plays a little "more" than Teddy Wilson did with Billie in the 1930s, because by 1952 she needed a little more help.
